Meet Kaycee, an adorable little girl with a face you can’t help but fall in love with, and our Adoptable Dog of the Week. Kaycee is a young female Brussels Griffon from Nauvoo, IL. She is already spayed, purebred, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Kaycee’s Story:

Pretty little Kaycee is a purebred Brussels Griffon and everyone who meets her remarks how very sweet and well behaved she is. She does have a touch of mischief and loves to play “catch-me” with her people. She will dodge back and forth, wagging her tail as fast as she can to entice you to play with her.

Kaycee is affectionate and LOVES to have her belly rubbed, but she is not too needy, like some Griffs are. She loves to gaze outside from her foster home’s screened in porch or from the sofa by the front window. She will occasionally ask to go outside to potty but it’s very subtle so you need to be aware of her signals. She LOVES being outside but won’t go out when the grass is wet – she is a girly-girl and prefers keeping her feet dry!

Kaycee is motherly toward the other dogs and tries to clean their ears every chance she gets. The mothering stops at meal times and she prefers to eat alone where another small dog won’t be able to sneak a bite of her food. She will bark at strange noises and especially if another dog is barking, so apartment/condo life is not recommended.

She would be happiest with someone that works from home, can take her to work with them or is retired. When you need to run errands, she is OK home alone for a few hours, but does best with another small dog to keep her company. She would like a securely fenced yard to explore, a walk every day and just to hang out with you as much as possible. Kaycee must always be securely harnessed and leashed outside a fenced area and crated or seat belted in the back seat when in a vehicle. Because of her small size, she will not be placed in a home with children under 10 years old or with large dogs. She seems to like younger dog savvy children, but prefers that they live elsewhere and just visit her home occasionally.
